A Gift To Tremont Street

A Gift To Tremont Street

The long awaited restaurant from Douglass Williams has arrived.   Snuggled at the top of Tremont Street on the site of the former xxx eaterie, MIDA is quietly causing waves.  Rooted in Italian cuisine as it's starting point (Doug's hand made gnocchi being a fine case in point) the small plate, classy neighborhood vibe blends the best of several worlds.  A date night, intimate location.  An impromptu destination for a bite to eat at the bar.  A lazy Sunday with the family.  It somehow all works for any occasion.

From the Fluke Crudo through to spicy Lamb Ribs and a sprinkling of grilled Octopus in the middle plate after plate disappeared to happy grins from our party.

Cocktails are magical - the vanilla Manhattan being a favorite - and the wine list is varied but fair.  I found myself having an extra glass because they'd resisted inflating the prices by those extra couple of bucks, that is often the route of so many other venues.

Rising high in many of Bostons up and coming dining spots, MIDA is one you should make time for soon.
