An Ode to Bacchus
It would be fair to say that Dubai is not a place that does things by halves. Indeed, it's a place that aims always for the biggest and the best. Some are well known such as the worlds largest building (the Burj Khalifa at 2,717 feet) and some less known - the worlds highest concentration of construction cranes (20%) - or some just crazy with the cost of building the World Island sand complex some $14.2 Billion.
So it's perhaps fitting that alongside such guargantan efforts that brunch is also possibly the biggest and the best in the world. A tribute and trial that you should experience once in a lifetime.
There's no shortage of choice but the Bubbalicious created by The Sheraton is quite possibly the Burj to most others attempts.
This writer is no stranger to a great brunch. This however can only be explained as being epic.
Perhaps the best way to describe this brunch to end all brunches is to imagine eight large restaurants connected together, each staffed with teams of personal chefs ready to do your bidding. Then add In a sprinkling of dedicated bars mixing Moscow Mules out of hand beaten copper mugs or slicing the tops of watermelons to insert vodka and ice. Just to ensure all courses are covered how about a cheese table 30 feet long or maybe a Foie Gras station with pan seared or lollipops of that most decadent of foods. Or maybe a large wooden boat with three guys happily shucking oysters to order. Yes. A boat.
So there then, is my brunch experience. A true Ode to Bachus and a not to be missed moment to #taketheworld
