A Fair Surrey Pub
This writer has frequented the Fairmile for more years than I can remember, and I’ve seen it ebb and flow with differing ownerships, and not all good (the worst being a budget motel with bedraggled driving range behind it)
But this current and stable incarnation of the Fairmile is a welcome addition to the Cobham pub scene. Part of the Chef and Brewer group, it maintains decent gastro pub food, at a price that’s similar to it’s name. Fair.
Food is pleasingly seasonal and pies well constructed. And if you can visit during the Fall then get ready for a wonderful focus on game - Rabbit, Deer all come onto the menu.
Seating is comfortable, modern, and pretty cosy - and dogs are welcome. I’ve even seen an English Border Collie sitting on a stool at the bar, which you don’t find in many places.
One excellent way to #taketheworld is to use a Gourmet Club card which gets you not only 25% off food, but drinks as well. That’s a sizeable saving and in one meal for four pretty much covers the annualy cost of $34.99. They’re also doing a 60 day trial, so give it a go - link to buy is here.
