Back to the Beat Once More
Just 4 days into opening, Backbeat Brewing company hit a wall named COVID-19. After months of renovations and growing excitement from local and social media, the latest addition to what’s now known affectionally as ‘The Beverly Mile’ of tap rooms including our favorites Channel Mark and Gentile, was finally going to be with us.
But the lock down started and the business was shuttered. Until now. Backbeat…is well…BACK!
Beers are similar to it’s neighbor Gentile, in that they are session beers - lower in gravity allowing for more quaffing without the need to call a cab to get you home. And, especially to this British writer, an unexpected pandemic bonus, that a British Store located on Cabot Street, has for now been re-homed on premise. So that means not only can you drink one of two regular British beers, but also gobble down some Monster Munch, Hula Hoops or Twiglets while you do that.
(for the uninitiated these are potato chips from England that are spoken of almost reverentially by any kids from the 70’s to 90’s.)
As with all current breweries, ordering food is a must under Charlie Bakers current phasing - but a very pleasant mini Mac ‘n Cheeze for $3 seems a fair exchange and a good stomach liner to boot. And a good #taketheworld tip.
The inside is spacious and there’s plenty of outdoor dining tables, where in another peculiar English tradition you can embark on some Train Spotting as well - backing directly onto the Beverly Depot commuter rail as well.
Enjoy and CHEERS!
